IBPS Clerk Recruitment 2026: Notification Out for 11,403 Posts, Apply Before August 21

If you’ve been preparing for a bank clerk job, this is the update you’ve been waiting for. The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has released the official notification for CRP CSA-XVI, which is the recruitment drive for Customer Service Associate (Clerk) posts across various public sector banks in India. This particular cycle is meant to fill vacancies for the 2027-28 period.

Online applications opened on 1 August 2026 and will stay open till 21 August 2026. So if you’re eligible and interested, you’ve got roughly three weeks to get your application in — don’t leave it for the last day. Selection will happen through a two-stage online exam: Prelims followed by Mains.

Before you start filling the form, it’s worth going through the eligibility, age limit, qualification, and exam pattern properly, since a small mistake at this stage can cost you later.

Selected candidates will be given a state-wise provisional allotment in one of the participating public sector banks, based on vacancies in that state.

IBPS has released the detailed notification for CRP CSA-XVI. Online applications are open from 1 August to 21 August 2026. Application Fee

The fee has to be paid online only, and once submitted, it’s non-refundable — so double-check your category and details before making the payment.

Age Limit

Age will be calculated as on 1 August 2026.

Reserved category candidates get relaxation as per government norms:

• SC/ST: 5 years
• OBC (NCL): 3 years
• PwBD: 10 years
• Ex-Servicemen: as per rules
• Widows/divorced/judicially separated women: relaxation applicable as per rules

Educational Qualification

You need a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university, and you must have it in hand by the application deadline — provisional or pursuing candidates won’t be considered.

Along with that, you’re expected to have working knowledge of computer systems — this can come from a degree, diploma, certificate course, or even having studied computers as a subject in school or college.

One more important point: you need to know how to read, write, speak, and understand the local language of the state or UT you’re applying for. IBPS may also conduct a Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT) if required, so this isn’t just a formality.

Salary

Selected candidates will join as Customer Service Associate (Clerk).

On top of the basic pay, you’ll also get Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance, medical benefits, and other allowances as per the respective bank’s rules.

Selection Process

Selection for IBPS CSA happens in these stages:

1. Online Preliminary Examination

3. Local Language Proficiency Test (if applicable)
4. Document Verification
5. Provisional Allotment

Keep in mind — Prelims is only a screening round. Your final merit list is prepared purely on the basis of your Mains score. Once selected, you’ll get a provisional allotment to a participating bank.

Preliminary Examination

The prelims exam is fully online, and each section has its own separate time limit — you can’t shift extra time from one section to another.

Main Examination

There’s negative marking in the Mains exam — 1/4th mark deducted for every wrong answer, so guessing randomly can actually hurt your score. Final selection is based entirely on Mains marks.

Applications are accepted online only. Before you begin, make sure you meet all the eligibility criteria mentioned above — there’s no point starting the form otherwise.

2. Find and click on the Apply Online link for CRP CSA-XVI recruitment.
3. Complete New Registration to get your Registration Number and Password.
4. Fill in your personal details, educational qualification, and other required information in the form.
5. Upload your passport-size photo, signature, left thumb impression, and a handwritten declaration in the specified format.
6. Pay the online application fee according to your category.
7. Preview your completed form carefully, and once you’re sure everything is correct, click Final Submit.
8. Save and print a copy of your application form and fee receipt — you’ll need this for future reference.
